Bored Cloud is Bored

It's so nice to feel the warmth of the sun again. My wife and daughter are both out doing their own things so my son and I went for a walk. We made our way across the river (frozen solid still) and headed up toward the Livingston Trail. We didn't go too far and we were in no hurry to get there. We just walked, enjoying the sun and the wind. On our way back home we spotted this funny face looking down on us and even though it looked rather bored with the view it still seemed that the sky even had life back in it after this long, cold winter.

Green Fire

There was a bit of an Aurora over Whitehorse last night. I'm still waiting for another display like we had back in about 2005 or 2006. That night the lights danced in vast, coloured sheets for half the night.

Spinning Fire

My son and I had a bit of fun tonight with fire and my camera. This is my third attempt at light painting with steel wool and I'm slowly getting it to work better. This time around I wore a hoodie so my hair/neck wouldn't catch fire and a 9V battery to ignite the wool. I'm eventually going to rig up a motorized spinner and maybe a push button igniter (that'll take a bit of thinking) and then I can do a spin in each hand or some other fancy type moves. So much potential...!
