We tried to get into the Rendezvous spirit yesterday down at Shipyards Park but I think my spirit froze long before I got into it. The wind has been howling for a couple of days now, sending snow drifting in long tendrils down the highway and swirling madly around anything in its way. Despite all this cold and wind there were a fair number of people partaking in the events.

To top things off I entered the photo of my son in Dave Brosha's contest for "best portrait" and wouldn't ya know it but I won third place! Pretty cool :)

Public's Eye

I like checking up on the daily news but I had a bit of a surprise yesterday. What caught my eye wasn't an article of any global impact like the events in Egypt, nor was it even an important local event. I plugged in the url for CBC North and started reading down the page when there, amongst the usual array of photos was mine! I had uploaded it to the "Your North" gallery because I had thought maybe people would like to see the cold my son and I felt the other week when temperatures plunged. I guess the gallery moderator liked it enough to make it the cover image. Rather exciting. Not only is my photo there but my son is there too!
